The 16th Day of January, 1961 The Town of Haslet was incorporated and became the “City of Haslet.”
That line, from the City of Haslet’s own history, marks the moment the farm stop became a city.
A small city for a long time
Incorporation did not bring rapid growth. The Handbook of Texas records about 250 residents by the mid-1960s and 276 in 1976.
