- The railroad and the nameThe Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway lays track across the prairie, a rancher lets it through, and a stop gets a name.
- Farm townFor half a century Haslet was a small shipping point on the Santa Fe, with a one-teacher school, a cotton gin, and fewer than a hundred residents.
- War years and slow growthHaslet grows for the first time in decades, reaching about 175 people by the late 1940s.
- IncorporationOn January 16, 1961, the Town of Haslet becomes the City of Haslet.
