The 2020 census counted 1,952 people in Haslet. Then growth took off. The Census Bureau’s annual estimates show about 2,400 residents in 2021, 3,400 in 2022, 3,900 in 2023, 4,700 in 2024, and 5,267 by July 2025, more than two and a half times the 2020 count.
Studios and warehouses
The land around Haslet kept filling in. In 2025 Taylor Sheridan’s SGS Studios, Hillwood, and Paramount Television opened a 450,000-square-foot production campus at AllianceTexas, the largest operating film and TV studio in Texas.
Growing pains
The roads have not kept pace. A project to widen U.S. 287 between I-35W and Avondale-Haslet Road was introduced in 2019 and still waits on funding. Avondale-Haslet Road crosses the BNSF tracks at street level on a two-lane road that carries about 11,000 vehicles a day, and in late 2025 the city sought state help for a $79 million bridge.
Growth has also blurred the town’s edges. Many subdivisions with Haslet mailing addresses, including Sendera Ranch and Willow Springs Ranch, are outside city limits and do not get city water or trash service.

Still being written
