The tornado that "hopscotched" through town
The next day's Fort Worth Star-Telegram ran the headline "Couple Escape Injury in Haslet Tornado." Mr. and Mrs. Earl McMillan told the paper they were lucky to be alive after a tornado hopscotched through town.

March 23, 2016
An EF-0 near U.S. 287 and Blue Mound Road
Just after 9 p.m. on a Wednesday night, a small tornado touched down near U.S. 287 and Blue Mound Road. The National Weather Service issued its warning at 9:01 p.m. and estimated the tornado was on the ground at 9:06.
It traveled about six-tenths of a mile with an 80-yard-wide path and peak winds of 65 to 75 mph. Homes lost parts of roofs, awnings, and fences, storage buildings lost roofs, and a trailer was tossed onto a boat. No one was hurt.
